Per the 1871 Saratoga County business report he owned in Great Lot #1 of allotment 22. Farmer of 150 acres with a Middle Grove PO address. Per the 1865 Greenfield Town Civil War records he was born in Greenfield son of Lyman and Edna Young Lewis. A Greenfield farmer he enlisted at Ballston as private Co. D 4th Heavy Artillery for 3 years. Mustered into service on December 22 1861. Discharged for disability on July 18 1863. Postwar address was Middle Grove.
